I just moved here from florida. I lived in florida for ~30 years (whole life) and have visited here and lived a short while in salt lake cit around 8 years ago.

For me, when coming out I may occasionally get a light headache, usually nothing crazy but its there. The most noticeable is how much easier you get out of breath. I am admittedly a bit out of shape but there is a significantly noticeable difference in how long you can "go" for before you run out of breath.

another thing is the dry skin, in florida we had really high humidity. I never had any issues, here I actually have to use lotion to keep from drying out too bad.

All in all, effects shouldn't be too much. I would recommend to take it a bit easy your first week (meaning, don't commit to a long hike that may be tough to complete) but you will be fine to go run around, do smaller hikes, explore the area, etc.. You will find how long you can "go" for and then take it from there.

Been here 4 months, lived over 40 years on the coast of California; no problems with altitude at all. Water is the key....I'm always hydrated out here.
