Ok so I recently moved to aurora colorado, and my son attends smoky hill highschool in cherry creek which is supposed to be a good school, but from what I've heard and seen now it's become as bad as aurora public schools. The kids there are bad influences and doesn't seem like it should be fit with the cherry creek school program. What should i do with my son where should i put him.

Well, like any public school there will be some troubled kids; I do not think that you can totally avoid it.

The first thing I'd suggest is that you go talk with his teachers or administrators. They should be able to tell you if your son is doing ok and maybe even direct you and him to some activities that would be beneficial to him and get him away from the kids who are bad influences. At least by talking with them you could get a better understanding if that school is right for him or not.

To me, this is one of those questions that's kind of outside the scope of c-d. This forum is best used if you have questions that have a geographic core. I don't know much about Smoky Hill, but are the problems your son is having endemic to this school particularly, or high school at large? I went to Arapahoe, one of the best, and we sure had our fair share of cro-magnons. There are pernicious influences everywhere.
