Our family which consists of 2 grandparents (ages 60), our son and his family (2 grandbabies - ages 2 and 6 mos.), two large dogs and a horse, are planning a possible move to your beautiful state. Can anyone tell us the best places near Denver to live where there is affordable acreage (5-10 acres) with nice mid to high-end homes. A good Roman Catholic Church is necessary - and if possible a Catholic school. Can be within 30 - 40 miles from the city. Thanks.

I know of some areas...check out the community areas in foxfield, Pinney creek ranches, Chenango, Chaparral they are at least 2 acres lands with nice houses and some mountain views, and some are horse properties. They are spread over many different cities but in the same area..can be centennial, Aurora..They are conveniently located located major highways, churches and great schools in Cherry Creek school district. I know for sure there is a large Catholic church there but not sure of Catholic school. Their prices came down reasonable now from 400s to millions depending on houses and location etc...

Else.. I think Pinery in Parker might be something you can research into. We are on 1 acre neighboorhood along Araraphoe and Parker.

Good luck.

We are considering a move to chenango on arapahoe road. Does any one have any suggestions/comments about this area? The good and the bad etc?

Ava Maria is a Catholic school in Parker (just past Canterbury) - not too far from Chenango. There's also a bunch of acreage in that part of town to if you drive east of Cantebury.

Pretty nice neighborhood. I used to bicycle through there all the time. Large homes on large lots, mountain views, very hilly, paved roads. Driving in snow might be more of a problem there compared to lower, denser suburban areas. When it was first built it was considered way out there, now it's no less convenient than living in SE Aurora or Parker. And there are other neighborhoods that border Chenango that are very similar-- Foxfield, Chaparral, and a few others whose names I can't remember.

These are all beautiful neighborhoods along Arapahoe and Parker Roads that are served by excellent Cherry Creek Schools. They can be a bit pricey, though--if you'd like to get out to more rural areas there are neighborhoods in Parker a few miles east of Parker Road where you can get a nice, upscale home on 5 acres for less money than in Chaparral and Chenango.
