Why not. Just do it. Walk In to the firms. Smile at the receptionist--- a little flirting would not hurt and use some humor. Be right up front, be friendly and who knows if you have "big blue eyes", "good physique" or just a "nice smile". You can appear like a little boy lost who needs help--you may get one of those mother types who want to take care of you.

They may pass your resume to the power that are with a comment 'he is such a nice boy" or they may give you a better contact information than they would give over the phone--because they like you.
