Just recently relocated from Ohio. My realtor took me around different neighbourhoods just to get me familiarized. I would like to know what are the pros and cons of the three neighbourhoods that we visited: Southeast Aurora, Wash park and Highlands ranch.
I am in the 50s, single, executive in a Greenwood village company, like to have a single family house in 350K range, with yard.

I would live in wash park, if I was single and liked walking to the park and neighborhood shops/bars.

I'd say Wash Park for a single, active person. And it's not too far from your job. HR is very suburban with mostly families w/kids. SE Aurora is probably similar. The only issue is that for $350K, you're probably looking at a 2 bdr. bungalow in Wash Park (decent yard) compared to a larger house in the other two areas for that price. I'd say it depends on your lifestyle and if you prefer a smaller house with old character and near urban amenities or a more cookie cutter stucco house in the newer suburbs. I think all areas are fine as far as crime.

If you'll be working in Greenwood Village, why isn't your agent showing you around the immediate area? Your budget will easily you buy you a decent house in the nearby neighborhoods of Centennial and Littleton, and you might even luck into something in GV.

That may or may not be good advice. We have no idea what the OP told his/her broker that s/he would like and what s/he would not.

I did have one exec tell me he wanted to be 20 minutes to work. When I asked why 20 - and not 15 or 30? He told me that sometimes they call in a VP in an "emergency" and he did not want to be the closet to the office. Evidently the closest to the office gets the call most often.

Centennial and GV could be an option.

Washington Park is the premier middle class urban neighborhood in Denver.

If one has more money, GV, Cherry Hills, Denver Country Club, Cherry Creek...

That has definitely happened to my family. Years ago, we lived about a seven minute drive from his office in northern California, which was much closer than any of his coworkers. Whenever there was an issue, he was the first one called. Recently, we moved to a house only a mile from my husband's office here in Colorado. I begged him to keep that quiet, but it wasn't long before it was general knowledge.

Happen to my STBX Hubby too. We lived two blocks from his office when we first moved here 21 years ago. The good thing was he came home every day for lunch. The traffic was never an issue, he walked unless it was raining or snowing. He boss was often impressed with his work ethic.

My spouse gets hassled when he comes home for lunch, because his coworkers think they're being rejected. I've told him to just smile and wink, and then leave them wondering. I have a bit of an evil streak!

But, back on topic...OP, besides a single-family, what other requirements do you have for housing?

IMO, the area right around work would work best.
