So my new job is (downtown?)...zipcode 80206. I've done a search for apartments and have found that I'm going to have to just figure this thing out one I get in Denver.

I've noted a few apartments and wonder if anyone has experience with any of them?

(FYI - single mom, toddler, commute downtown, kid-friendly, safe... 2br @$900; SAFE, SAFE...nothing too old)

I think 80206 is more like the Cherry Creek and Congress Park areas, so not quite downtown. As far as I know, downtown is mostly 80202, some of 80203, and maybe a little bit of 80205.

I live at Deerfield Apartments and like it. I know I've recommended it to a few other people on here. I don't work for them and I'm not affiliated with them in any way, but I've been here for four years and I think it offers a good mix of location, safety, quietness (if that's even a word) and would have a 2-bedroom floorplan in your price range. It's sort of near the Carmel Alton Green Apartments that you mention, but not on a busy street like that part of Florida Ave.

The apartment manager is very nice. Give her a call if you have any questions, or send me a private message.

Cowboyjon - are the units quiet (ie: can't hear your neighbors walking above, normal level conversations through the walls, etc.)?

I would say "yes" but I live on a top floor end unit, so I'm not sure what it's like to live on the 1st floor. I try to be quiet but it's possible that the people downstairs can hear us walking around, but we've never had a complaint. I can't hear my neighbors, for what it's worth, but my neighbors all seem to be fairly quiet.

You could check out a unit and ask about that.. sorry I can't give you a more definite answer because I would hate to give you the wrong information and then have you be unhappy with your choice.

I think you might run into this issue with most apartment complexes. I don't want to say that the buildings aren't built well, but they probably aren't as solid as a home from the 1920s that was turned into apartments, for instance.
