Me and my family thought of moving to the denver area, from Israel (we are US citizens though) and we found that Highlands Ranch-Lone Tree area seems like a good nice place.

But I would like to ask something, me and my family are jewish not orthodox, simply traditional-conservative, are there other jewish people living in this area? (Highlands Ranch-Lone Tree)
And how's the attitude toward minorities in this area, in the schools and the neighborhoods in general, Are the people open minded?

Thanks in advance.

Default Lone Tree

We lived there for 10 years and loved it. The schools are good, crime is low and (considering its Colorado) a fairly diverse area. I really don't think you'll experience any problems. I would say that Colorado probably has some of the nicest, best mannered people in the country, in addition to one of the best educated. I'm not one for statistics, but I recall that CO have the highest percentage of college educated adults in the US.

Lone Tree also has some significant property tax benefits vs Highlands Ranch. A realtor will be able to explain better than I.

Good luck.

I should add that there are plenty of Jewish families in the Metro area and I never heard of any anti-semitism.

That sounds great, but why did you leave colorado? (If I may ask, forgive me if its personal)
I presume Lone tree isn't considered in the metro area, do you know if there is a jewish population there? Unless I am a serious id1iot for not noticing you were speaking about Lone Tree the whole time.

Thanks so much for the helpful answer.

I've been in HR now for two years (well, minus 2 months) and moved here from Northern/Central NJ. Here's my take...

HR is not diverse, but I do think it is very tolerant/welcoming of diversity - does that make any sense?

In other words, will you find a large Jewish community in HR proper? I don't think so - at least, I am not aware of one having lived here for a couple years. I am not Jewish, but am used to living in an area that has a very significant Jewish population - and that does not exist in HR. BUT I don't think the overwhelming majority of HR residents would give a hoot if you are Jewish. So you would be very welcome indeed, but you will be a significant minority.

This link may help offer more guidance...

Chabad Jewish Center of South Metro Denver

Hope this helps!

Thanks, well living near jewish people is nice and all, but if there aren't many jewish people in the area, and the people are nice in general its just as important and good.

What do you find appealing about HR/Lone Tree? Are you open to nearby communities?

I haven't spend much time in those areas but I have spend some. My impression matches the above post - it's not particularly diverse (depending on what you are used to) but it seems to be reasonably welcoming to minorities, etc. I don't hear a lot of racial slurs or otherwise questionable remarks like you do in some other places. There is a Jewish population in Denver, and I doubt that you'll feel much anti-semeitsm. But, hopefully someone in that community will chime in!

HR/Lone tree just seems like a nice family area.
We are very open to nearby communities, nothing is settled yet.

In that case, I suggest you look just a bit north in the town of Centennial, across County Line from Lone Tree.
