Hello,

I will be attending a concert this week at Fillmore auditorium. I'm staying at the TownPlace Suites downtown, about 1.5 miles from the auditorium. I'm wondering if this is considered a safe walk, or am I walking through the hood?
Google Maps says:

1.Head north on Speer Blvd toward W 11th Avehttp://maps.gstatic.com/intl/en_us/m...camera_dr1.png436 ft
2.Turn right at W 11th Avehttp://maps.gstatic.com/intl/en_us/m...camera_dr1.png0.3 mi
3.Turn left at N Broadwayhttp://maps.gstatic.com/intl/en_us/m...camera_dr1.png0.2 mi
4.Turn right at E 13th Avehttp://maps.gstatic.com/intl/en_us/m...camera_dr1.png0.5 mi
5.Turn left at Clarkson St

Is this a safe walk in your opinion? I'm a young man with concealed carry, fwiw. Thank you.

Well you'll have to travel right through Denver's own Compton...Cap Hill. Also, walking down Colfax and Broadway is probably putting your life into your own hands, even with concealed carry.

I jest, I jest. I haven't walked 1.5 miles through Cap Hill at night (though I have walked through the area at night), but I seriously doubt you'll have any issues at all...Colfax and Broadway are well lit major (and well travelled) streets and Cap Hill, fairly dense, is more of a hipster neighborhood than a violent crime neighborhood. I can understand if you don't know the area you just want to be sure, but overall I think people are far too concerned about walking in a city like Denver.

Unless, of course, you're looking for trouble. Then there's no such thing as a safe walk...

You'll be fine unless you're uber-paranoid.

Good luck on getting the gun into the concert, fwiw.

I'm not going to lie and say it's the absolute best and safest area in Denver, but I don't think you'll have any problems.

Safety is relative, so everyone has a different idea of what is safe. I would do that walk without hesitation (I'm a big guy).
