No, I don't live in Des Moines, but I have family there and do visit on a pretty regular basis. The question I have about Southbridge Mall, is how has that one been doing? Des Moines doesn't seem big enough to support four malls, especially with the Jordan Creek Town Center.

The rusty fork portion of your weapon has forced us to reconsider and make a counter offer. We do not yield our demands to rebuild the George Nahas Pool so it is at least 15 foot deep and has 3 diving boards and a new water slide, nor our demand for the new Burger King. However, we agree to have our finest architects rebuild an exact duplicate of Smitty's Tenderloin shop on Army Post, at a location of your choosing.

A wise decision Tek_Freek, we hope you enjoy your new Smitty's. We know that you will honor your agreement, as your Westover, Northganger and East-toker forces could never penetrate our defensive positions along the Raccoon and Des Moines Rivers. We may be little more than 20,000 strong, but our armed forces from Fort Des Moines with impressed troops from the jails along Chaffee Road, combined with our F16 jet fighters and Italian forces headquartered at Godfather's Pizza........will prevent your Camp Dodge tank and infantry divisions from ever getting across the river. We control your water, sewer and the skies above you, and the south side is an impenetrable fortress of doom praying for war, don't ever try and **** us.

Have a nice day and come on down to visit the zoo sometime.......

Oh, and that 35 or 40 mile round trip to the sanitary landfill near Prairie City is too far away, we need a mini-dump somewhere closer by. We need a drivers license station down here too, going up to Euclid or Ankeny for that really sucks.

Grimes.

No worries about invading. I go around the south side on the bypass. There's nothing else there of interest to me. About as close as I ever get is the rare flight out of the airport.
