^^^ Agreed. Yes, there are very flat places in Iowa...some not far from Des Moines but to say DM doesn't have hills is simply wrong.

Yes, Des Moines is as hilly as any other Midwestern city. Doesn't mean it's as hilly as, say, San Francisco; but neither is Omaha or Minneapolis.

None of us are claiming that DSM is that hilly. We're just flabbergasted when someone complains that it's flat.

Small hills are seen as really impressive in Iowa.

Exhibit #745 demonstrating RJ's continued inability (or unwilliness?) to follow a discussion or understand the most basic of points.

Back on point - trying walking 18 holes at Waveland golf course in the heart of Des Moines. Unless you're in great shape, you'll be cursing the hills before you're done.

Beaver Creek Golf Course in Grimes has some nice hills too. Again, I don't find those mini hills impressive at all.

I would never consider Beaver Creek to be a hilly course. Waveland on the otherhand...

Waveland might be hillier, but there are parts of Beaver Creek that you can actually see very far into the distance (looked hilly), I always liked that. I don't really golf much anymore though. Sold my clubs a few years ago. I only learned it for business reasons, then realized I probably wasn't ever going to be much of a golfer.

Des Moines is a wonderful area!! Lots of shopping, good nightlife, good diner, pretty much everything you need in a Mid-sized city.. However, I wouldn't move here if you don't have a job set already.
