Where will population movement head to in the future with sustainablity in flux in the west & along the coasts? It's hard to say for sure but a huge number of presently popular population migration destinations do not have long term sustainablitly supporting their future continued growth.
My opinion:

NE (eastern) - IA - MN - WI - IN and if they can get the gov'ts together, MI and OH. Reason: excellent water and other resources. OH needs to get a handle on the nat'l gas fracking problems in Y'town and Athens before the aquifers are polluted.

ND and SD are not included because of the weather extremes.

I'm still undecided on Kansas and MO - still researching.

But, yes, I see DSM as poised to take off for a number of reasons.

In the coming years? Des Moines isn't even close to 1M yet, and you're already proclaiming it's going to hit 2M? This is why you Des Moines fanbois are such a source of amusement.

I have suggested here before the that use of the term "fanbois" be stopped but the use of it continues by a couple of folks. You know who you are and why you choose to use it
It's disrespectful at the very least & is absolutely insulting to be used against anyone who is not a young "bois" type.
Cut it out!
