Shouldn't be a difficult thing to find. Apartments for rent - ApartmentFinder.com is a great source for lofts all over the city/suburbs, this also features some condos. Good luck!

I didn't realize that's what you meant. Really though, many lofts and studios are for rent...but Condos are a different story.

There have been a lot of condos built downtown, in fact so many that the market is currently saturated with them. You might be able to find some good deals on condos right now. There's not many downtown condos that are entry level, with most being more upscale units. I would look near Court Avenue, East Village Neighborhood or Sherman Hill.

Here's a few links to sites that feature a lot of information on downtown condos:

Downtown-Central Projects (http://www.absolutedsm.com/downtown_central_proj_page.htm - broken link)

Downtown Des Moines - Buy

Let me know if you have questions about living in downtown Des Moines. I've been through almost all of the downtown condo and apartment units that have been built over the past few years.

They come in all shapes and sizes! I sold two recently that are being rented out. Not a bad deal for an investor.

$250 K and up? You'll have no problem finding something in downtown. As an added bonus, anything you buy downtown or near downtown will have 10 years of full tax abatement on it.

There's probably around 20 different options you could be looking at just between downtown and the historic Sherman Hill Neighborhood.
