Hi - does anyone know who are the reputable builders in the Des Moines area ? We will be looking for a house to buy but need to know the scoop on builders in the area. Who would you say to stay away from will be helpfull too. Don't really want to buy a track home...would rather have a small builder. thanks.

This is a builder I work with new homes, homebuilders, Des Moines, construction - Venture Homes
They don't build a ton of homes and the ones they do build are high quality.
They have some open every week if you are interested in taking a peek. They have lots available in many places but Ankeny seems to be the hottest right now.

Thanks for you're input We haven't moved just yet from the SC area but have our home for sale. We hope to be moved by May of this year. I will certainly keep that name available and go see them when we arrive...thanks so much !

Regency and Hubbell Homes, but they pretty much exclusively build track homes. The quality isn't great with Regency either.

From first hand knowledge, I second what Luke said about the quality of Regency homes. It has gotten worse in recent years.

Thanks, I will stay away from them Right now we live in Inman, SC and have a new home from a very small builder. He only builds about 3-6 homes per year and it seems that the smalled builders do a much better job and care about what they sell. Thanks for the information
