Does anyone remember when you could cash in metal hangers for a nickel? I use to take some to the cleaners on grand river near a street called hudson

Wow, you're kidding. Never heard of that. A nickel seems kind of high, assuming this happened awhile ago. I'd think you'd be able to make a profit by buying wire to make your own hangers, then selling them to the cleaners.

I do remember when you could bring your burnt out light bulbs to Detroit Edison to get free replacements, though.

I wish that there was somehting to do with metal hangers. It seems a waste to throw them out in one use. I took them back to the cleaners, but they did not want them. We jsut throw them in the recycling bin.

wow, I can't believe the cleaners refused the hangers. I was told to take them to the cleaners to recycle them. Did you try a different cleaners?

Man I wish I could have all your metal hangers! I use them as extra strength and support when I pour my cement statues, benches and stepping stones.

Maybe we could all gather our hangers together, melt them down and create some type of phallic symbol for Hart Plaza.
