Can anyone familiar with the Bloomfield Hills School District chime in about the differences and similarities between Way Elementary and Eastover Elementary? Which school has a better reputation?

honestly, I would say either. Maybe go to orientations at both and see which one you feel a better at. They are both known to be extremely good schools. I'm not sure where the kids goto from Eastover, but I know from Way they goto Bloomfield Hills Middle School and then to Andover or Lahser. I would say to just be sure your kids goto Andover, (unless they end up athletes) which is known to have better academics.

Also, Check out this site and look at both of the comments from other parents, it maybe helpful.

I don't believe this is true. BH schools are good all around. I went to Eastover, which feeds into East Hills (rather than BHMS) then into Lahser.

I'm pretty sure BH has decided to consolidate both schools (Andover & Lahser) and build a new school at the current Andover site. Haven't lived in BH for 15 years, but that's what I've heard through the grapevine.

When I attended Way Elementary (1990-1996), they used many pilot programs (CSMP Math, Rebecca Sitton Spelling) and for a time, even tinkered with year-round school calendars. I do not know if this school still maintains a reputation for using these pilot programs but I can tell you that Bloomfield Hills schools are all quite good and you would do fine purchasing a home serviced by either school. In terms of area, I prefer the Way attendance area due to the proximity to Telegraph Rd and downtown Birmingham. My parents lived at Quarton and Lahser for most of my childhood and it is truly a lovely area.
