Are you kidding? Lock your doors and have a gun with you. Tools are as good as cash.

That's just what I was going to say.
I lock my doors any&everywhere I go. Whether I'm in the 'richest' part of town or the 'poorest' doors are always locked&alarm's always set.
I don't believe in areas where "it never happens here".

Hey, good for you! When I asked if a particular neighborhood in Detroit where I was potentially going to have to go for my job was safe I was ridiculed by one poster who even suggested that I shouldn't be doing my line of work if I was "that damn scary". Sounds like you are actually being taken seriously. Maybe Detroit is more dangerous now than it was when I posted that thread a few weeks ago...

Unlike the M & M color coded national security threat, the risk of being in Detroit has remained the same since 1969. It fluctuates very little.

What type of work do you do? (i.e. can you do electrical troble shooting?, body work? transmissions?)

What is your minimum amount of work for a house call?

Do you have anyone you can pray to??

"Two men wearing ski masks attacked a customer at a BP gas station in Detroit early Wednesday morning...

It happened around 4 a.m. at the 7 Mile and Rutherford location...

One of them pointed a shotgun at his head, the other held a knife to his head. The clerk says the suspect with the gun fired directly in the man's chest."
