For you "old Detroiters" who happen to remember the old JL Hudsons, the one in downtown---did they ever have a restaurant there called The Crown Room?

I've been having a recurring dream, that I'm to meet my mother for lunch at The Crown Room in Hudsons. My mother died many years ago. In this dream, I wander all through Hudsons, but can't fine The Crown Room.

Hudsons had many resaturants, my mother and I used to frequent the restaurant on the 13th floor, but that wasn't called The Crown Room, I forget what it was called.

Gosh, I wonder---was there really a Crown Room?

I don't see it listed here:

The Department Store Museum: The J. L. Hudson Co., Detroit, Michigan

There was a "Pine Room" on the 13th floor. Maybe the name got distorted in your dream...sometimes that happens. Or maybe the name was changed at some point.

I just know we ate at the restaurant on the 13th floor, I never did know the name. It was an inside restuarant, no windows. It was probably one of the cheaper ones, but we felt like big time going there.

Well, I hope you didn't meet your mother!

Don't you hate when dead people tell you they want to meet you.
