Baker's Keyboard Lounge, a staple of Detroit's Jazz scene was saved from bankruptcy today. If you didn't already know, this place is pretty famous and has hosted the most notable Jazz legends, like Miles Davis. Here's the article and a short picture slide-show of the bar through the years:

New owners rescue Baker's Keyboard Lounge -- and fulfill a dream | Detroit Free Press | freep.com (http://www.freep.com/article/20110131/NEWS01/110131020/0/WEATHER/New-owners-rescue-Baker-s-Keyboard-Lounge-fulfill-dream?odyssey=nav|head - broken link)

Thankfully, it looks like Baker's will be around for the next generation to enjoy.

Hip hip hooray! It's someplace I always have meant to visit, but I don't go to bars and those kind of places much. I wish the new owner well; I'll make it there sometime.

If you didn't have to pay to park and endure lousy service, Bakers would probably have more customers. I used to go when a friend was playing there, and would have loved to kept going. But the service was unbearable, the food mediocre at best and parking a nightmare.
