Hello Everyone! I have a question. I am from Philly, born and raised, and never been to Detriot. Every year, my family gets together and decide where to have the next reunion. Just like always, the cousins in Detriot suggest their home. No one ever considers Detroit due to fear of the unknown and the poor reputation associated with the city. This year I am wanting to be a little more optimistic. I've always thought of it as being a great location. I hear Canada is right there and their is loads to do. Can anyone suggest a few attractions and locations that would appeal to a older crowd? Im 30 and considered a baby (lol), its the 50+ making the final decisions. Thanks everyone!

And keep in mind that to travel to Canada (by vehicle or foot) you must now have a passport or a Michigan enhanced driver's license , I don't believe Pennsylvania is amongst the handful of States that have the enhanced drivers license , plus you don't know how many of your relatives here have one of those . There is more to do in the Detroit area anyways . You could always take in a Detroit Tigers game at Comerica Park as part of the family celebration . Good luck and have fun !
ps when you've been here and returned home , share your thoughts of Detroit as to whether the media likes to beat up on us or not .
