Hands down, the Detroit Athletic Club.

Here's why: Detroit Athletic Club

It's difficult to become a member, though. I think you need like six references from current members and a sponsor just to be considered for membership.

Does DAC have a mandatory restaurant tab? I have been there several times and it is probably not meant for everyone.

I belong to Lifetime. There are several in the area. A bit expensive ($59/month) but they do a decent job.

Avoid Bally Total Fitness. Lifetime is a better choice by far.
