Detroit Outgrows Silicon Valley in Technology Jobs as Ford Binges on Hires - Bloomberg

I don't like how it's just focus on the auto companies. It should be focused on tech industries not related to the auto industry to promote economic growth

How about these options for Detroit to grow on trying to get people from silicon valley.

  • Battery technology for mobile phones, Cameras, Laptops and Tablets
  • Software for computers, mobile phones and tablets
  • Remote Servers (Cloud Computing, Storage, web hosting)

Silicon Valley has been struggling lately. It was the place before to be, but recently the ideas have become novelty items and ideas for creations way too far in the future. I DO hope however the Bloombox brings back the valley.

Good weather is OK for attracting the independently wealthy (typically foreigners coming here to start small businesses / micromanage their kids in college, or, retirees of a certain stratum). For attracting real business and the Middle Class - not so much.

If I had a business and were looking into relocating, it would be right up there for me.

You'd be going against the grain. Companies both large and small are diverting activity out of this state. Even ones w/ HQ here are adding jobs in right-to-work states and overseas.

The regs are horrible, general costs high, and with AB32 (Google it) things are about to go from bad to worse.

"Bad to worse" is what will happen to the climate if more states and countries don't enact stricter emissions standards.
