They should be 2-2 right now. It's almost as though all of the good luck that they missed out on for a decade was concentrated and applied to this season, or maybe it's just the ghost of Tom Kowalski pulling strings for them in Heaven.
I sure hope they start to play in the first half because they can't possibly keep this up forever.
Yeah, those first halves are quite concerning. Both games they started out looking confused and out of synch - then modified their strategy (at least according to Brandstatter). Seems like they didn't have the opposition figured out at first.
Can you imagine most of their remaining games played like the second half? It WAS against the much-vaunted Cowboys after all, who shouldn't have allowed it to happen.
An interesting quote from one of the Dallas blogs - "Dallas is America's team but Detroit is America's city". Interesting!

I like that! Thanks for posting it. Between comments like that and the Eminem Chrysler Super Bowl commercial it all kinda gives you goose bumps.

Never been to Detroit in my life, but on that note go Lions. Gotta love the underdogs coming out and kicking some ass.

As a Browns fan, I must say I'm extremely pumped Detroit is doing good and will continue to root for them. The city deserves a winning Lions team. Out of all the teams in the NFL, I'd say Detroit and Cleveland are the two teams that deserve to have a winner for once.

It would be nice, but I believe that Green Bay is just way to good this year. I see them (Green Bay) going to the Superbowl for the NFC, but I really ain't sure about the AFC.

Something of concern in recent trends - seems that no club can field a healthy team. I don't remember this always being the case in the past, - at least not as bad.

Last year Detroit played with backups in key places - same with Green Bay and others. Our backup QBs did well, and were vital. We could not afford to lose Shaun Hill or Drew Stanton, who could probably start on other teams. As a fan I want to see the starters on each club, otherwise it's not the best measure of the team (or the game).

Detroit as underdog needs all the help it can get (a healthy Leshoure and other draft picks), at least until another draft. A team needs three good QBs in order to be competitive?
My point is, although injuries are a fact of life, unless I missed something I have not seen it always like this.

It's just the Lions luck that once they're finally good and look like they'll be competitive for years to come, they're in a division with the best team in the NFL. Contrast that to the Indianapolis Colts where playoff admission was pretty much guaranteed for most of the past decade.

I am almost guaranteeing that the AFC will be New England and if they somehow blow it, it will be the Ravens. With the Steelers playing how the Lions usually play, I don't even see a playoff chance. I see a possibility of Detroit making it to the super bowl similar to how Pittsburgh made it last year. Almost everyone knew that the Steelers could not beat the Patriots, but New York did that for us so if you have another team take care of Green Bay and the Lions continue playing the way they have been, I call a New England-Detroit Super Bowl. From there..... it's fate

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Colts go 0-16 this year tbh with being without a few key players
