I am a little concerned about the house that I live in.it has piles of something I don't know if its broken concret or not in one room(the furnace room)the piles are on like a platform.I was worried if it was loose concrete could it cause silicosis by the particles coming up through the vents.

I doubt it. As long as it's undisturbed it shouldn't produce dust. You could throw a tarp over it.

If you want to remove it, I'd wait till summer. Turn off air conditioning. Open the closest window. Set up a fan to exhaust air out. Put on a dust mask and gloves. Put the "stuff" in bags. Vacuum, and dispose of or clean the vacuum filter outside. Wash or mop down the area. Change furnace/air conditioning filter.

Disclaimer: I'm not an expert, but I've cleaned up a lot of crap in my life and haven't contracted any diseases yet.
