So almost seven years later, what are the upper middle class and really wealthy neighborhoods in Detroit now? Are there any? Does it look like there will be some in the near future?

Got a bit more time before the 2020 census happens, so this is a good time for predictions.

The only neighborhood would be DOWNTOWN proper and maybe the Lafayette Park condo district just to the east of downtown. Maybe Palmer Woods (birthplace of Senator Mitt Romney!)

The wealthiest neighborhood in Detroit is Palmer Woods were the median income is higher then the upper east side:
