Are there any public swimming pools (not just a single pool - but like an outdoor aquatic center) for kids in Farmington Hills or the surrounding area? We are likely moving from central Ohio and we have an AWESOME aquatic center that the kids go to at least 2-3 times a week in the summer. We are looking into buying a home in Farmington Hills, Canton, Plymouth, Novi or West Bloomfield. Any thoughts on property taxes, schools, club soccer / lacrosse, etc.? THANK YOU.

The city has a public pool at the Costick Center but it is just a single pool. Oakland County has two waterparks, Red Oaks is on 13 mile road about 10-15 east of Farmington Hills. There are many swim clubs in the area, but they are private, you have to pay to join, but they are reasonabley priced. Going West 15 miles on I96 and you hit Kensington MetroPark which is a great beach/swimming place for kids. There are lots of Facilities in the area. Farmington, Novi, and some of the others have ice skating arenas. Farmington has a Skate Park for skateboards. There is a overwhelming choice of club sports. Includin Hockey, Football, Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, lacrosse, gymnastics and more. Farmington has the Costick center which has numerous clubs and activities. There is no shortage of these things in any of the suburbs you mentioned, my only advice is this is the motor city. The population is very spread out and is continuing to disperse farther and farther out. Take your 5 miles and double it to 10 and you should have everything in the world that you could want.
