Today? It never was. people who spread rumors love drama. Saying things like that are much more dramatic amd make htem feel important.

It is hard not to be disgusted with such people or think them idiots. The rumors were spread around simply because a Grand wizard or grand poobah or somethign lived about 10 miles outside the city and had rallies at his farm. He brought is wackos form all over. it never had anything to do with the city, but everyone thought it did. They did have some sort of building in Howell, at least I hope it was theirs, we used to go throw rocks at the windows at night when I was in HS and really stupid.

Just the other day a very uninformed friend said she would NEVER stop in Howell (nigh or day) for anything.

I laughed. She repeated the grand wizard story. I laughed. Told her he had lived 20-30 miles outta town and has been dead a number of years.

Told her I even see BLACK PEOPLE at the farmer's market. Suggested she come out tomorrow for the last farmer's market of the season to see for herself.

Told he I would take pictures and email her.

So if people really want to judge a city based on it's racial history, then Detroit is no different than Howell. But lo and behold, Detroit today praises its African American history despite having had neighborhoods that blacks weren't ever allowed in until literally when whites built new homes in the suburbs and didn't care for Detroit anymore.

I think we should all follow the city council's logic and disassociate ourselves from cities that have had former injustices against minorities. Except, Livonia, Novi, Troy, Southfield, Dearborn, Warren... and especially Detroit, ugh.

The 1920s KKK was mostly anti-Catholic, at least in the Midwest.

I agree that the city council is stupid. The City of Howell should find a reason to sue the city of Detroit.
