There is a good video on what happen to this city. I do believe with work this city can be revived.

40 years later and we're still believing.

Ah, if only it were that simple. I just hope that video was created by a 15 year old.

I thought the video was great.

It showed the problems and possible solutions in a very cut and dry, clearly understandable way with great visuals.

After driving out around Harper and Chalmers today, I am seriously wondering what is really possible. The drive out Warren is kind of depressing once you pass Mt. Elliott. What did not happen around Kelly and Hayes?

I drove by here and it looks like 30 years of neglect has transpired since this pix was taken. The building has 60% of its windows blown out and the brick facade is crumbling..

Someone do something to HELP the city before it completely implodes on itself..

Without bringing manufacturing jobs, I don't think anything can be done.

And as Detroit goes, so will all of America go -- it's only a matter of time. Our leaders have given away the industry that made this country so wealthy. Now they are doing all they can for the giant global corporations to bring wages way down.

Let`s NARROW DOWN, define who it is that you`re calling ``leaders``

The guys with the money, they`re not leaders, until and unless they need a favor or a handout from Washington.
The guys in Washington, they can`t become leaders, until they get a handout from the guys who have the money, the same guys that may need a favor sometime in the future.

Who`s leading whom.....

The guys with any brains and integrity....
Those guys are so out of fashion,
they have to pretend to be stupid (it`s called folksy by Bush fans and loyalists)
if they want anyone to hear anything they have to say.

And even then, if it`s anything too smart or complicated,
they`ll be accused of betraying America.

I think I know what malamute was talking about. I think by "leaders" s/he meant the citizens that We The People voted into office. They have allowed industries and jobs to be exported to the great detriment of We The People.

...and unfortunately, We The People don't seem to care, as long as we can get a "good deal" at Walmart.

you can change a city, but you change the people

``We, the People``, are brainwashed, disinformed and uninformed too,
confused, and plain scared, broke, and FRUSTRATED.
