I'm looking to rent a studio/apartment/loft in downtown Detroit and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. I'm a recent graduate from UofM and so I would prefer to live around other people my age (22-27).

I'm looking to spend around 750/mo or less. Also, could anyone tell me anything about the Detroit City Apartments?

If you look at Detroit Live Downtown you can find a lot of options for downtown apartment choices! Also googling, 'Detroit Lofts' can give you lots of options as well.

A few of my friends (I'm 23) live in Detroit City Apartments and really, really like it. I think the apartments are nice and the building has been renovated recently. I'm just thinking that if your price range is 750, DCA might be a little bit pricey for you.

Good luck!

The balconies at DCA are stunning and make the entire experience amazing. I second DCA. Nothing like sitting on a nice Martha Stewart patio chair and having a coffee each morning/adult beverage at night and watching the cares of the world dissipate.

Thanks for the replies! I'm willing to pay more for the right place. Is it a young social crowd there? I know they have the rooftop pool and hang out place. Are they popular?

Get a roomate and rent a two bedroom.

Broderick also has some very nice units.

I didn't think there was much left in the Brodrick. It is an amazing building though, if you can get in.

They have a website that shows available units. There was a nice 2 story unit on the 31st floor, as of last week.

What's amazing about Broderick? I'm interested too but don't see much. The only thing I like about it is it's downtown, as opposed to Midtown (work in Downtown). But there are nice lofts in Midtown that seem really appealing, especially for the price.

So, what's so great about Broderick Towers?

It's new and hasn't opened in the past 30 years. So you'd be a "trendsetter" living in the hippest location. Other than that - they're all the same. Midtown/dowtown are only 2 miles away so you're going to rub elbows with the same crowd anyway. It's not like you're competing with the Novi crowd at Lucky Strike. Pick the unit that makes you the happiest outside of work - that's going to drive your overall positive experience level.

Thanks. Broderick it is. Close to work, sports, midtown. Can't seem to go wrong. Thanks all.
