Maybe if the judges were harder on the criminals, the criminals would be less likely to rob ladies at the gas station.

Many of the gas stations do make me nervous, especially at night. There are no gas stations in good parts of the City that I know of, at least not to the South/East of downtown. The gas stations themselves need to make some effort. I bought gas last night on Fort street (near Clark I think). There were several guys just hanging out in the station lot staring at people. They did not have cars there. There was no reason for them to be there. The stations need to make some effort to get them to move on. Gas is 20 cents more a gallon than downriver prices. You pay more, and get stared at the whole time by unsavory looking characters. I was the only one there except for the guy cowering behind the double plate glass bullet proof barrier. I pretended to be talking on my phone while I put gas in the truck. I put in 3 gallons and bailed as quickly as possible. Both because I was not going to fill up at that price and because I wanted to get out of there. I certainly would not encourage my wife or kids to get gas anywhere along the I-75 from downtown to about Northline. I try to get at least to Northline myself unless I am positiviely out and unlikely to make it. Both for cheaper gas, and security, but mostly for security. Buying gas at night is somewhat risky in many places.

I do not think we are likely to see any gas stations downtown, and probably not mid town either (there might be one, I do not rememebr with certainty). Gas stations need cheap real estate. They usually puts them on the outskirts of cities.

On the other hand, I do not see that as a reason to condemn the entirety of the City. All of the city is no awful, parts of it are awful. UNfortunatley, as far as I have seen all of hte gas stations are int he awful parts. However since I try to avoid buying gas in Detroit, I do not have that much expereince visiting gas stations.

I read the article - but didn't see what was "earth- shattering", "stellar" or "must read" about it. I think the interviewer asked too many questions so it read more like a "20 questions" piece than an investigative view of the judge. Too disjointed for my liking.

The judge does sound bitter he doesn't have a city car - that was referenced at least two times. And the fact he's scared to allow someone to pump gas - that just reinforces suburbanities fears. Not a role model we would want to emulate. I fill up at Warren/75 all the time and "safety" has never once crossed my mind. But I'll admit that's very different from Fenkel/Grand River or somewhere else - but I don't have a reason to go there.

The 36th district court is by far the most incompetent court in the state of Michigan and most likely the country and I'd bet it's could possably be the worse court system in world. It's full of worthless people and im not talking about the defendants. It's a joke and everyone knows it.
