To be fair - Dally in the Alley is probably one of my favorite Detroit festivals - held in Midtown in the alleys surrounding Wayne State University. It's only on Saturday from 11am-11pm but definitely worth checking out. It doesn't get hopping until around 3pm - so don't show up at 11:15 expecting a circus.

Wow--Dally in the Alley is still happening? I had a booth at one over 20 years ago...but I hadn't heard about it much in recent years. Glad to hear that the tradition continues!

The one reason I dislike the Daley in the Alley so much....

It reminds me of what Detroit could and should be. It was wonderful to be in the Mid-Town area a see people strolling around. The xylophone player was amazing. People in their back yards and on the porches. Just a great time to be in Detroit.

But just like the Christmas Spirit, tomorrow it will all be forgotten and the city will return to business as usual.

I forgot this thread was here. I should have put my comments here instead.

Anyway it was awesome. I wish it was more than one day. I would like to go there with friends instead of kids and just hang out all day and have a few beers, hear some great music. We met some really entertaining and interesting people. I cannot say enough abot how great it was. If Detroit was like that every day, it would be inaccessible. Everyone would move there.
