The houses are well kept, and the neighborhood is safe and quiet. The city was developed in the 60's and brick ranches and suburban streets were all the rage then. Now everyone wants some yuppy downtown to go with their suburbia. A lot of Warren's neighborhoods look as good as they did 30-40 years ago. If you want some yuppyville then go pay double to live in Royal Oak. People make Warren out to be a bad city because it lacks this downtown and doesn't have huge houses. That doesn't make it a bad place. I know a lot of people who chose to live in Warren for the reasons mentioned above and drive the five minutes down 696 to Royal Oak if they really need to. Just because Warren doesn't have the quintessential downtown, there are still good places to eat in Warren. My favorite place is Troma's. (It's technically in Center Line)

They're not really that tall, or even architecturally appealing.

Warren's 'skyline' is pathetic compared to much smaller cities, even Pontiac.
