Detroit is a public entity paid for by the taxpaying citizens within the legal municipal border of Detroit.

No one makes a profit from Detroit and Detroit doesn't have any shareholders, so there is no "ownership" of the city.

Then the taxpayers are going to have to pay to clean it up? When I say clean it up I mean tear down abandoned or burned out homes, businesses and what not.

That's how it works in theory.

In Detroit's reality, there aren't enough taxpayers to address these things. So the individuals elected by the taxpaying citizen of Detroit look for other ways to pay for these things (or they simply go unaddressed).

The link "UNBELIEVABLE" was a link to Debbie Schlussel and her vitriol where she gets to spew and then asks for donations on the side.

Really, I wouldn't give what she said a second thought. Is she related to Rush Limbaugh? She's nuthin more than a pan-handler. People actually listen to her?

I was curious, but got a Web Of Trust security pop-up warning on that site and so I went no further.

What is "Web Of Trust"? So, whats up with that link? Is it a virus?

It's a free add-on for several browsers that I've had for years with firefox. It flags suspicious or unreliable sites. Not virus protection, just warnings.

It's probably flagged because of keywords maybe or links asking for donations.

It's still bile, I recommend against reading it.
