It is for some actually. A buddy of mine said "the bigger they are, the more to love" and he made other references which I can't repeat. Seems like a "more the merrier", "bounty of riches", "size is everything" rationale.

My current favorite bar. It's really different.

Cheap, strong drinks, fun environment, and celebrity client tell

That place was featured in the "Detroit Lives" documentary. I'll have to check it out when I go back to Detroit.

D'Mongo's is a riot, but from my lone experience get there early if you want to get a seat. Also, need to be a little aggressive to get a drink, small bar serving lots of people. Still, lots of fun, and a few really original cocktails.

There was this new bar that I went to near Midtown. I think it was not that far from the Lodge Freeway. I wish I could remember the name of it. It was pretty impressive and there was really nothing around there besides some apartment buildings.

That does sound familiar. That's probably it. My buddy lived off of Cass Ave., so we met up there a couple times. I was impressed with it because it stuck out like a soar thumb. It was this nice, newly renovated bar and there was literally nothing else around it.
