I am going to the Lions game in December against Dallas. We want to tailgate at Ford Field and stay in a hotel nearby. Where is the best place to stay near the field so we don't have to drive? Money is not a problem. Just looking for a nice place near the park to crash before the drive home the next day.

Any help would be appreciated.

What about the Renaissance Center's Mariott? As far as the city of Detroit goes, that's probably the best hotel they have. It's very safe, modern clean and affordable too, so I would highly recommend it.

Great.

Is it walking distance from the field?

I mapped it at eight-tenths of a mile away, which I would consider reasonable walking distance.
