I didn't waste my time on it, thanks to MarvinStrong313's warning, but it's sad that people are so insecure that they need to make and/or distribute nasty videos about places where they don't live in an attempt to in some way validate the place where they do live and get some kind of temporary feeling of "superiority" from it.

Self-loathing and insecurity for sure - and so much wasted time spent on this which they will never reclaim for themselves.
Most people outgrow the bullying instinct at some point, but others got nothing else.

Not that I'm defending these feelings, but that video right there is a perfect example of why Detroiters are so critical of help from the state/suburbs. Would you really want assistance from someone who thinks of you like in that video?

No other major city has endured so much hate from its own state like Detroit has from Michigan.

While I think that was a mean-spirited, hateful video; you have to admit, you reap what you sow. The corruption of the leaders and the next post-great recession bubble will be brought to you by the evil GM. They get their bail-out, offer the worst financing deals (20% APR) for people with less than fair credit; sleep with the oil companies ($4.00 a gallon in this economy, folks); I think Detroit (any city in America) deserves better leadership, but it is a democracy. If you want to wait 60 minutes for the police to show up after dialing 911, a dropping population, and the worst economy in the nation: keep voting these losers in. I think the bankruptcy is a final warning: get rid of the scumbag losers that you're entrusting your tax dollars to.

The creator of the video was actually born and raised in Detroit.

Ah - there is also a lot of bitterness from many people who moved out over the years. A good measure of suburban and outstate polarization which will probably not go away.

Yes, but do they still live in Detroit, or are they one of those folks who were "chased out by Coleman Young/Kwame Kilpatrick?"
