Like being in Taylor or Garden City, but less excitement for your tax dollar.
I would go for the east end towards the park or anywhere along Ann Arbor Trail.
Da Heights

I lived there for 22 years and my parents still live there. The neighborhoods def aren't like they used to be but I guess times change. My parent's best friends still live next door to them, as long as they don't leave my parents won't leave.

Very blue collar. Southern Dearborn Heights is pretty run down, but the north is still somewhat holding up. However, a lot of it is near the Redford border which does not bode well for home values.

As far as school districts go, Annapolis (south Dearborn Heights) is pretty bad. Crestwood is average.

I live and grew up in south Dearborn Heights, east of Telegraph, close to West Dearborn. Annapolis (District #7) isn't that bad. It is about mediocre. I went there. My sister is going there next year. Admittedly, it has maybe fallen a notch since I went there. South Dearborn Heights has 2 parts. East of Telegraph is ok, though maybe not as good as it used to be (I know a few blocks I would avoid outright). I would NOT live on the west side of Telegraph in this part. This is the part where the bad district is you may have meant to refer to. Westwood (with Robichaud High School) is the really bad one.

I can't speak too much about Crestwood since no one I know currently goes there, but it is likely a notch better than District 7 from what I hear (they used to be close). North Dearborn Heights is generally nicer in many parts. Property values are a little higher in most of the north as the south end had too many foreclosures, but we are starting to rebound a little bit, like most.

I suppose it's relative. If you're comparing Annapolis to the Novis and Rochesters of the area, it is pretty bad. It depends on what you are looking for.

I know someone who moved recently from south Dearborn Heights, west of Telegraph. Bad. He was starting to hear gunshots on occassion. That area is very close to Inkster, and some of the crime is starting to spill over the border. That's a big reason why I wouldn't consider a lot of north Dearborn Heights either -- way too close to Redford. The area around Crestwood High School still has some very nice neighborhoods with large homes, though.
