Better that Cockrel goes back to the council where he is more effective.

Here's hoping Bing is truly prepared to lead a whacked city council.

I think that this is hopeful. Shows that the residents are fed up for the business-as-usual mentality that has plagued the city for decades and are ready for change. It is my understanding that the entire city council is up for re-election, some are saying many will have difficulty winning the vote, despite being the incumbent; let's hope a fresh breeze blows into the council chambers as well.

Looks like the Bingster won -- no surprise as even I, fifty miles away, was uncomfortable having a crony of Kwame's in the Mayor's office, even temporarily.

Hopefully more suburbanites can take over city government because Detroit does not need business as usual.

This is truly great news. I am happy for all you folks in SE MI. And Godspeed to Mr. Bing. He's now got his ultimate challenge.

I hope Bing can pull it off. Detroit needs and deserves some good leadership.

Detroit needs more than good leadership. It needs good followers to follow good leadership.
