Well define nice, people have different definitions of it. Alot of people in Metro Detroit have a strict definition of what "nice" is. Most of the downriver area is fine, mostly working to middle class. Grosse Ile is very nice and probably the nicest part of downriver. The Taylor area is generally working class.

Good point. Nice to me is not a million dollar neighborhood. Just a decent safe place to be. I'll be relocating from Ohio and working in Taylor.

Yea, there's nothing really good or bad about Taylor. It's just sort of there. It's claim to fame used to be the Gibraltar Trade Center. Shame it closed though.

Other than that, it's pretty much a typical suburb.

Majority white, pretty safe, close to I94, about 20 minutes from Downtown.
Any reason why you want to live in Taylor? Where will you be working? Do you have kids? I would avoid anything north of the interstate because of its proximity to Inkster which definitely isn't desirable.

Update: If you are working right in Taylor, it would definitely make sense to live there. What is your price range? $100, 000 can get you a decent ranch house in a pretty safe area.

Oh yea he is right... stay away from Inkster, Ecorse, and River Rouge.

I will be starting a new job in 2 weeks in Taylor, and I don't need to live there, just someplace at least close. No kids.

Thanks

Frankly, I would like to find a rental house with a little bit of land. A couple few acres in a rural area would fit the bill. Matt
