Monteray Cantina in RO is good...
XOCHIMILCOS...

boy I have a story about that place! We are not from MI so when we moved here everyone told us we just had to go there and eat. We love Mexican food so off we went. The food was hands down fantastic! BUT...as my hubby and I sat at our table chatting,,,out of the corner of my eye i saw a small something scurry across our table. In disbelief, I looked at my hubby and said "Did you see that?" And of course his response was..."see what?" So I just chalked it up to the dim lighting and myself being way to hungry...until I saw a med. sized cockroach climbing up the front of his off white sweater.

But don't you know we stayed and ate...and damn it was so so good.

All restaurants have roaches. We were once sitting at a =/- $100 per dinner place in Newport beach California and a rat ran over my shoe!

(The food was not very good either, nor was the service)

LOL! I went there a couple weeks ago and BF was really unhappy and complaining about the service, but I didn't care because I had one of those great strong beers.

I like Sala Thai, Union Street and I love Niki's pizza. Detroit has a lot of great places to eat.

I don't think anyone's mentioned the original Buddy's on Conant. Not my favorite restaurant, but good nostalgia and pizza....Or Scotty Simpsons.....only with fish....

Mmmm Buddy's is by far the the "everyday" pizza I've ever had! I say everyday only because pizzapopalis has the best "hangover" pizza. One piece will fill you for a week!

For some reason I have never been to Pizzapopalis, in my defense I was out of town for 12 years. I'm going to have to remedy this very soon. I'm curious what makes it good hangover pizza? Do you have to be hungover?
