I'm in a jam now sadly and living out of a hotel. The only thing I was able to find available is a rental on the western side of Pontiac near M-59 and Telegraph. It looks like it's a block above the Seminole Hills neighborhood.

I am pretty sure this area is sketch, but I will avoid doing any business in Pontiac if I can help it. The building has controlled access and gated parking. Everything looks new. Has anyone lived in this area or close and can tell me how it is?

Meh, Pontiac isn't awful. It's no Bloomfield Hills or even a Ferndale, but it's certainly no Flint or Sagniaw either. The city actually posted population growth last year!. As far as Pontiac neighborhoods go that's not even the worst area of town according to income and crime metrics. It's a bit more mixed race than the south side of town and tends to have enough married homeowners (according to CityData statistics) to probably be considered moderately stable.

I personally wouldn't live there long term, but if a situation arose that required me to spend a month or so sleeping there I wouldn't worry too much.

You'll have to pay Pontiac Income tax though.

I don't think it's HIS stigma that's stopping him...
