I'll be moving to MI in a month, and always wanted to play more team sports! You guys have any ideas of what and where things are going on?

I'll be working in Troy, and as for living: not sure yet- but likely Shelby, Macomb, Wash, Romeo, Leonard, Almont.

I grew up in Troy but I'm not sure how helpful I can be in terms of leagues. I know they're out there, but most of the leagues I played in were located in Detroit proper and it was a pretty big hike from the suburbs. If you google around I bet you'll find something.

There is a good ultimate frisbee pickup group that plays Tuesdays and Thursdays at Firefighers park. Google "Rochester-Troy Summer Ultimate" if you want to find more info. There is an ultimate league in Detroit proper that has registration open right now if you feel like driving 30+ minutes to the fields.

Adult hockey "beer leagues" are huge in SE Michigan. They have them for every level from adults learning to play to former junior/college players.

For baseball, there is the Detroit MSBL with many different age groups (an 18+ league all the way up to 65+ league): Detroit MSBL Home
There is a St Clair Shores version without all the age groups if that works out for your location better: SCS MABL
This is real baseball with fastballs, curveballs, wood bats, etc.

That's the only organized sport I play. I know "beer league" softball is prevalent everywhere and not hard to find.
