There's a good chance I may be moving to a Detroit, and if I do, I would probably live downtown and have to commute to BF. A few questions:
- Siri tells me it's normally about 30 minutes. What is the real-life expectation during rush hour?
- By going downtown Detroit to BF in the morning, and the opposite in the afternoon, would I be going in a different direction than the rush-hour crowd, or would I be just as screwed?
- Any suggestions on best app or website that estimates average commute times between points? Not necessarily real-time, but where I can ask the estimated travel time between points at certain times?

Living downtown and working in Bingham Farms is a reverse commute. You should normally be going against all major rush hour traffic. The morning commute will be a breeze. Afternoons may be slightly more congested but much better than the other way. You may want to pay attention to when the Tigers, Red Wings, Pistons have home games as that could add to the evening congestion headed into downtown.

You'll usually be using M-10/Lodge Fwy.

Crazy to see the amount of people now looking to live downtown. At first I read your post and assumed you would be living in Bingham Farms and working in Detroit, but its actually the opposite.

If I were 7-10 years younger and single, I'd definetely consider living in downtown/midtown.

Yeah, if things work out and I do end up in Detroit, I'm definitely going to live downtown (or somewhere right next to it).

Thanks for your reply.
