I live near the city of Detroit. Thankfully I don't live IN that city. Mayor Kilpatricks alleged actions have put a serious dark cloud over Detroit. It HAS been discovered that he has done some things that, after his trial, would find him guilty of many things as being mayor.
I personally feel he should be removed from office or at least suspended pending the outcome of the trial.

I feel the same way. Kwame is a thug who thinks his crap doesn't stink and he can do whatever he wants. Sure he has done SOME good things for the city of Detroit, but everytime I turn around, he is getting deeper and deeper into some kind of sh**. I don't know why someone just doesn't kick his butt out of office.

I hate Kwame Kilpatrick and everything he represents. He's the Mayor of a Major American City like Detroit and instead of acting like a politician he's out whoring around and being called a "PLAYA" or the hip hop mayor...what the F***? I knew he was trouble when he was elected the first time and the sad thing is the people of Detroit complains now but the man is on his second term because they voted him into office.. now they want to cry about it...it's too late for that!

A) WHAT good things has he done for the city?

B) The City Council is obviously trying to punt him out of office. We all saw the front page of the Freep on Tuesday, right?

Default I post to all kwame topics with the same statement

As a 20+ year detroit resident I can say that Detroit was screwed when Kwame became mayor and even worse the 2nd time he was elected. I or friends and family did not vote for him the 1st or 2nd time and yet we still deal with the effects. So I must say I moved to suburbs thinking I was escaping all of the problems I faced growing up in Detroit and my child would not see. Yet I was wrong. I hope Kwame gets the maximum time for every charge but for some reason I keep hearing the judge at his arraignment hearing say count such and such punishable by X amount of years and or X amount in fines and with the luck we (Detroit and Wayne County tax payers) have he will get off with no jail time and have to pay fines that some how Detroit and Wayne County taxpayers will end up paying. There is a big feud in metro detroit between detroit residents and suburban residents over Kwame because detroit residents feel that people from the suburbs should not have an opinion about the kwame issues. Well the truth is this affects alot of if not most of wayne county because if you live in detroit you pay a detroit tax, if you live in detroit but work in say dearborn or surrounding cities you have to pay detroit a tax because you live in detroit but don't work in detroit. If you live in the suburbs and work in detroit you have to pay a detroit tax. Guess how the whistleblower lawsuit is being paid? Google that. Detroit taxes. Guess how kwame's defense attorney bills are being paid for his perjury trial? Google that. Detroit taxes. Yet we have had police stations closed, schools closed, bulk garbage pick up reduced from every month to every 3 months. Family used vehicles and vacations paid with tax dollars. Yes I say we because I was still a Detroit resident when this all started and even though I moved to the suburbs I still pay a Detroit city tax. To all of you that say Detroit is on the rise and becoming better because of Kwame putting in some casinos and hotels drive down John Kronk from Livernois to Western and tell us what you see. Drive from Michigan Ave. and Woodward down Michigan Ave. to Wyoming down the side streets and tell us what you see. Well I'll tell you what I see when I drive down kronk, I see garbage piled up along the streets, burned houses, stolen cars, graffiti, dope dealing, gang banging, prostitution. When I drive down Michigan Ave. from Woodward to to Wyoming on Michigan Ave and down the side streets to wyoming I see the same things. I have lived in Southwest and Northwest Detroit most of my life and trust me the only thing that has gotten better is Downtown. I'm sure alot of you will say it's a start but you have to understand that every part of Detroit other than downtown has been ignored since Archer LEFT office. It's time to realize what is going on with YOUR city and start realizing what is BEST FOR YOUR CITY. I say yours even though I live in the suburbs for less than a year but have a 5" old english D tatooed on my arm because I was proud of where I was from.
