I will be moving from Detroit to Houston in 10 days or so.
Are there any suggestions for renting a trailer attachment or something of that sort?
I got a quote from Uhaul but they are a little expensive for what I have -- a bed and few boxes.

Any other alternatives?

(this is for my friend)

I think the title of this post is very deceiving (hence only 17 views). It appears as if I need physical help.
I Do Not.

I need some suggestions with moving furniture etc out of state....in terms of moving companies..

When I moved from MI to LA I had my car shipped but furniture since I had cheap stuff in Mi I just got new cheap stuff in La. The prices were crazy. Some small stuff I packed in my car which I shipped and got damaged. Also a note have you looked on craigslist? I ask cause I saw some individuals who had trucks and would do similar moves for less. The issue there is if they are insured in case of damage. Good luck

My daughter just moved to Clinton NC from Detroit Mi and we used a company called Bekins. They did a great job. They did a binding quote for us and were very flexibale with their schedule. If I move out of state I will not use any other company.
