Hi,

I am new to this thread, and I am looking for a reputable non for profit that provides services to the blind, military and civilian. I work at the Kansas Braille Transcription Institute, which is credited with the creation of an American Braille flag that permits the blind to see the stars and stripes of the American flag along with the colors of the flag.

The Institute I am with here in Kansas is wanting to display the monument of the Braille flag in Detroit, and we were told that doing so could result in generating donations. However, we are interested in making a donation to a facility in Detroit that works with the blind in some capacity, especially with blind veterans and children. This past Memorial Day we were invited to the White House Commission on Remembrance to display the Braille flag and present it at the Memorial Day ceremony to several blind children and blind vetereans. The original monument was installed at the Arlington National Cemetery after it was unanimously voted on by the U.S. Congress.

So, if anyone out there can offer some help, it would be much appreciated.

Randolph
