"In the end, Michigan factories have to compete with factories in Mexico and China," Fox said in a telephone interview Thursday. "Companies like General Motors and Ford and Maytag don't have an option. They either close the doors and fire their workers, or they move where they can gain economic competitiveness."
Good for him, good for him. If American politicians don't have the guts to tell it like it is, I'd rather rather they hear it from the President of Mexico.

Speaking of guts, I think he must be the bravest man in all of North America to deliver such words in person, in public, in Detroit. It's never been done before. No one alive in modern America is that brave. Damn shame.

I hope the psychotic local union, the UAW, doesn't lynch the man for telling it like it is though.

.

Unfortunately, the current Mexican President does not seem to know US History. Otherwise, he would not make such a ludicrous statement, as contradicted by the facts.

I suggest you read the history of the US, 1790-1973, especially note the Hamilton Plan and tariffs.

Then I would read "The Myth Of Free Trade" by Ravi Batra. Note the date it was published, and the accuracy of the predictions.

And note the remedy proposed.

Oh, we can get the manufacturing jobs back. All we need to do is put up tariffs and engage in trade protectionism just like most other countries.

The only proper response to the Mexican El Presidente is: "We're sending the tens of millions of illegal alien invaders back."

Sadly, because Americans are morons who have bought into free trade like a religious dogma, we're going to allow global labor arbitrage, mass immigration, and population explosion to continue. My prediction is that the U.S. will become an overpopulated, impoverished third world country.
