This is where you brag about your neighborhood. It could be where you grew up, or just been through it. Go 8-mile

Grand River and Greenfield area. We had it all there. Stores galore.
Even Santa came to Montgomery Wards.

I am not familiar with Detroit, I have been there several times but I did not pay that much attention to the area. I have heard things about 8 Mile Road just north of the city as the barrier between Black Detroit and the White Detroit suburbs. I thought that the Grosse Pointe area was very wealthy, very white, and very safe, but much of the area is located south of the 8 Mile line. Also, I had always thought that the Grosse Pointe area was preferred over Bloomfield Hills and Bloomfield Twp. is that not the case either?

Babigyrl,
I lived off of 8 mile as well on the North west side of the city. I lived about a half a mile to the west from the Telegragh and 8 Mile intersection. All my favorite restaurants and places were on 8 mile aswell.

I got to say the whole area between/around Vernor-Springwells-Michigan Ave-Central-Livernois-Martin and even the Oakwood-Fort area is alright.

That's the area of Detroit i like.
