But according to city data HP is 84.9% white, but I do not know how old is that data. Even if it is from 2000 that seems like a very drastic change. I thinks there is not a single community in the metro Detroit area that is not concerned about decline, even in wealthy areas. Every area in the SE has been hit hard in one way or another.
Actually Harper Woods was featured in HGTV's House Hunters a while ago. I do not know how old was that episode but the areas they featured were clean, older neighboorhoods with mature trees.
It's changed dramatically since 2000.

BurtsBees, it's hard for me to believe that Harper Woods has fallen below 50% White population in only 9 years.

I would not be shocked if it happened. Harper Woods has changed dramatically.

If it isn't majority-black right now, it will be very soon. And Eastpointe will be majority black 5 years later.

If you actually condescend to spend time in the neighborhood, you'll learn a few things about the community. Violent crime is still normal, and the city has 11 sex offenders and their ratio of residents to sex offenders is lower than most of the close nit northern communities. Most of the theft, car theft, robberies etc happen at Eastland.

I'll just go on my front porch and make pistol motions with my hand to every black I see and tell them to get off my lawn.
ten years later you moved out of your beloved Harper Woods that you have fiercely defended. ha. So I guess the other posters were right and you were wrong

Sorry to see a thread hijacked, but since others brought up my home town, Eastpointe: https://www.candgnews.com/news/2018-...-thefts-112789 It hasn’t become a ghetto just because black people have moved in. In fact, I have more problems with my white neighbors (“white trash”), than the black ones.
