I was wondering if anyone knows of any restaurants where I could find rather out of the ordinary foods. My boyfriend absolutely loves eating things you don't typically find on a menu, i.e. crocodile sausage... but neither of us are familiar with any places around detroit where he could find something like that.

any suggestions ?

I had elk and reindeer down at the Dundee Cabela's a few years ago. There was (probably still is, last time I went there I didn't go upstairs) an exotic animal restaurant. I remember the reindeer being delicious.

Fish Bones in Greek Town has alligator, crwfish and other unusual delicacies.

Also Beaver Creek in Westland has wild game like venison, duck, and such.

Moose Lodge in Bloomfield Hills. Order the roadkill platter (it is not really roadkill, just wild game like elk, moose or simlar things, I do not really remember what is on it, but it is quite good and very funny). If you do order a road kill platter, be sure to ask for a bumper sticker ("I eat my Road Kill").

THere is a resturaunt in Wyandotte where you can get Muskrat stew, but I do not remember the name of it.

Slows in Detroit is unusually good. Not wierd meats, but smoked/barbque dishes that you do nto find everywhere (and you rarely find any this good).

It's really called the Moose Preserve, but everything else is correct.
