This not just about Detroit or Metro Detroit but how does any region battle crime. What do they do, how do they organize there officers.

Police Departments working together. If one city does not have that many calls on crime, then they should shift some officers to another city that needs help.

CCTV is also another good thing.

Also Private security contractors (Not your typical mall cop one, the military style one) to help out in paroling neighborhoods that have it worse with crime and drug dealers.

Wouldn't work. My taxes pay the officers in MY city to help ME, not someone in other cities because their crime rate is high.
